David H. Turner has recently composed THE GHOSTWRITER with playwright Christopher Shinn, This musical has been developed with a Working Sessions grant from New Dramatists. Also with Christopher Shinn he composed music for a ten-minute film, BROTHER, which was directed by choreographer Susan Marshall. This film was created under the auspices of Raw Impressions, a collaborative group for which David has composed three ten-minute musicals that played at LaMaMa E.T.C and HERE Arts Center. Other collaborations include a musical with playwright Randall David Cook and songs for a few FringeNYC productions.

As Johnny Hancock, his alter ego, David has sung his songs at venues around New York City such as Ars Nova and The Knitting Factory.

David has participated in New Dramatists' Composer/Librettist studio and wrote songs for Princeton's Triangle Club until 2002 when he graduated the university with a degree in Comparative Literature.
